Some brilliant financial facts: Medici borrowed money the king of France after the 100 years war in return gaining fleur de lys for their family banner, and, more than that, protection from France, which came in handy much later. P for long-term planning!
Leonardo da Vinci’s yearly salary from the king of France was an equivalent of 700.000$. I wonder if the Louvre’s still working on returning that investment.

First of all, wow, renaissance is whatever period after equally wobbly Middle Ages an author-historian chooses it to be. History is facts, historiography is how these facts are presented, and this leaves a lot of space for interpretation, and, not surprisingly, misogyny or just ignoring selective facts about women. Never happened and here we go again.
Also, surprise-surprise, no definite villains nor heroes here.
