a lot of these essays read more like speeches, which makes sense considering goldman’s years as an orator—but as result it left me feeling they lacked a philosophical depth i was hoping for. still got a lot out of it, and actually found it to be a pretty fun/easy read. the essays on suffrage and marriage were very good, and any time she talked about culture/literature felt super relevant to now.
