Really intense section. A lot of people died, mostly sad about sam the cook. I found that even though they are still just doing random things, ive started to like it more. They dialogue is just that good i feel like I could just read a whole book with just bantering between the characters.

Pg 201-218
The plot is so much weaker than lonesome dove. The characters are still good but they seem to just be riding around and there aren’t any real engaging plot lines going on at the moment. Sort of just boring sidequests. The characters are carrying it all.

Dialogue and characters are well developed and awesome as usual. McMurtry is second to none in that aspect. Plot is mind of mid so far but characters and dialogue make it enjoyable
