But Elide’s face did not warm. “I don’t care,” she said, turning on her
heel. “And I don’t care if you walk off that battlefield tomorrow.”

“Why?” He pushed into her space. She didn’t balk one step.
Indeed, her eyes were blazing as she hissed, “Because it will help me

“Is it a sickness?” she demanded. “Is it something broken within you?”

Rowan laid a hand on her chest, right over that burning heart.

‘Fireheart’ oh my lord how that one words sends shivers through my body.

Tbh finally working towards finishing tog has shown me how much better the writing is here then in acotar like the amount of depth and emotion she puts into these characters is soooo much better and so refreshing after reading my previous mid af reads. Like omg why didn’t I continue this sooner I think this is the book that will finally get me out of my slump.

Aelin let out a sob that cracked something in him. “I can’t feel me—

Cairn, and everything they did to me.” She gulped down air, and Rowan
wrapped her in his arms and pulled her onto his lap. “I am so tired,” she
