What is even happening in this book? 🥴😵‍💫

Gifted to me by a trusted and beloved book friend, but I'm not so sure. The author seems to want to make you think she's a master wordsmith by trying to throw extremely wordy similies into every other paragraph. So far comes off as arrogant. Hopefully it gets better because its a big book 😅
