Does the series get better after book 2?

@Hayley I was not a big fan of book 3. Gave it a 2.5 to 3 star. It was weird. But book 4 has a lot of potential. The concept is really fun and seems like it can be read as a standalone.
That's good. I might get back into the series. I didn't care for book 2 and stopped after that one.
