I do think Serina could have gotten away with a leaser punishment by mentioning that she memorized the story she was telling as it was her favourite of the ones her brother read to her, even if she held the book open. That's one flaw I see in the whole thing.

Then again - her family might get punished then cause we haven't heard the law on reading to women. 🤔
