So, finished the novel, and about to start the "Revisited" portion.
It is not, in my opinion, a very good novel, but it is a thought-provoking one. (I told my partner, "It's the worst book I've read that has given me a lot to think about.") This is probably the only reason anyone still reads/is interested in it. The writing is rarely good; Huxley's style would, I think, be considered YA if he was writing today.

So far, everything I’ve read *about* the book is infinitely better than the book itself. Even Huxley’s preface, written 15 years after the novel, is better and more interesting.
I can certainly see why, as dystopias go, it has been overshadowed by Orwell’s 1984 — even taking into account world events that made that book so impactful.
