at first I didn’t really see why everyone had such a visceral reaction to this book but now I do. Everyone’s messed up, especially the main character. the more I read this the less I find myself able to sympathize with him

ps: not saying that the plot itself is not sickening, but the gore and violence against people who are established from the beginning to be nothing but cattle felt a bit gratuitous at times, and I personally felt like explaining the whole selection process of the “special meat” aka who can be considered human vs who is regarded as cattle would’ve made a much bigger impact.
