Not a single main POV character actually wants to do things the way the Bene Gesserit want them done, so it’s a constant balancing act of rage baiting and diplomacy (deception); it’s very fun to read as they all plot internally and we witness it progressively unfold. Curious how Duncan is gonna swing his apparent declaration of seeking the end of the Bene Gesserit straight into their cameras and microphones

RIP Lucilla she was too good at the Bene Gesserit method of rage baiting. Very curious how 10 year old Teg will handle his memories being awoken, and how Duncan will handle doing it. Lowkey hoping for Scytale to stage a prison escape, that would be kind of hype.

At one point Scytale speculated that one of the rooms blocked off from access but not from view is a training room because he sees Duncan and Murbella go in dry and then come out sweaty, which I fully assumed was naive and wrong and it was just a sex closet given the vibes of the last two books. But nope, next chapter seems to confirm that it is in fact just a training room and (presumably) non-sex-related sweat

Duncan the sex god is locked in a sex prison with Murbella and Scytale, while Bellonda tries to convince Odrade they should kill him because he’s too smart to also be a sex god. I am curious what more there is to his Tleilaxu programming - what’s up with that vision of the old farmer couple? Also, the salvation the Bene Gesserit decided on being creating a bunch of Dunes or axolotl tanks is kind of hilarious.

“The Jews” becoming an important faction in the sixth book was not on my bingo card. Insane that Scytale is the last Tleilaxu Master left. Thank goodness Sheeana is in fact okay and is still her girlboss self, and now she’s friends with Duncan - wholesome. Also, the Honored Matres are out here just obliterating whole planets left and right like their lives depend on it - did we learn nothing from the Jihad?

I really like the early relationship between Odrade and young Teg, Odrade was my favorite Reverend Mother so I’m glad her story of reconnecting with her humanity is continuing. I’m curious what this “Weapon” and “Charge” the Honored Matres are talking about are. Also what happened to poor Sheeana? What will I do without my sassy girlboss?
