so blown away by the first story "but I loved them, perhaps even more than I had before, when suffering had not yet marked their faces, and when they were innocent and so beautiful. i loved their defiled earth, even more than when it had been paradise, if for no other reason, then that sorrow had appeared on it. alas, I have always loved sorrow and grief, but only for myself, but for them, I wept, pitying them."
