This is such a rich book with detailed characters in setting and ideas and plot. It’s so interesting to be contrasting this with the last book. I read where I felt like everything was so crammed together that it needed more space and needed to be more books. Yet somehow this book in the same amount of pages approximately is so much more richness in depth without feeling like it is rushed or crammed together.

Can I just say that I’m absolutely loving this book and I think it’s going to end up on my top list of the books I’ve read this year? Somehow it makes me really homesick for Oman.

OK, this is one where the audiobook is better than just reading it! Great voice acting so far. I am thoroughly enjoying this and really wishing I’d had a chance to go to Salalah during the Khareef. I so miss Oman!
