Haven’t been able to sleep (because I take like two naps during the day when I don’t have work lol) so I’ve read one more chapter. Aislyn is such a relatable character for me and Jemisin keeps hinting that she will eventually grow but like... seeing her constantly choosing to validate her ignorant beliefs is hard to read ngl.

I have to read a book for one of my art classes and it should be here on Friday so I’m letting myself read this until then but the paper I have to write on the book is due at the end of April so I can’t read anything else until that’s done. The book is only 150ish pages so it shouldn’t take long given it isn’t boring lol. My goal is to finish this by the time it comes which I think is doable

I love all of the avatars for New York, but Aislyn really hits home and my god is Jemisin a masterful artist to be able to craft not only her but also her mother wow

Not sure if I said but I had to go back to the doctor the other day and they have me some more medicine and a shot in the butt lol. Feel a little better day by day, but I have to start focusing in my school work so reading is gonna take a dip for a while.

I’m still super congested so I haven’t felt like reading much. Been thinking about reading some comics but I also don’t want to put this down because it’s sooo cool.

Finished chapter two. I’m dreading having to wait for the second book to come out. This is just SO good.

I hate updating my progress in the middle of a chapter, but it’s so late I need to go to bed. That is my one complaint so far is that the chapters are very long. But otherwise this book is fucking amazing so far, this is just right up my alley.
