I’m saving the last 42 pages for tomorrow night. This book better have a good ending and Thomas and Audrey Rose’s relationship sort of fixed or on the mend. Cause let me tell you, if they don’t get a happy ending, I’m gonna loose it. As of right now, my star rating on this book will most likely be 2.6 stars. Was gonna be a 3… but gosh those last two chapters I just read made me cry. 😭

You know, when I first picked up this book, I didn’t think I’d tear up. But oh my goodness. She broke his heart! What do you mean you don’t know your feelings?! Thomas has been with you p, through thick and thin. And once a shiny man comes in and acts like a @$$hole, you may sort of have feelings for him?? No no! I’m in tears! Thomas needs a hug. Audrey Rose needs a smack to send her back to reality. 😭

Six chapters left! Can’t wait!
The mystery is so close to being done and I can’t wait to see who it is, cause I have many theories. Also because I hope Mephistopheles get put behind bars.
The thing about Audrey Rose, in this book, is that she got a bit stupid. Like, you’ve known this Thomas, and that he loves you. Of course he has emotions! Of course he can get jealous! Just tell the truth!

FINALLY, Thomas is back to getting more page time.
Did not care for Mephistopheles’s sad backstory.
And yes, Audrey Rose, you have gone too far for this investigation to the point it’s irritating. Liza, Thomas and I are disappointed. And thank God Mrs. Harvey is ok. Almost done with the book and it’s slightly getting better? Shocking, I know.

First off, the mystery is still fun. I really do love the dissections. Makes me wanna be a forensic scientist.😆
And, now for my constant bother, the miscommunication! I need Mrs. Harvey’s “calming tonic” just to keep reading. A great quote from Liza, “ The right person will want you just as you are. And if they don’t? Forget them.”
Audrey Rose better come clean. Thomas deserves better. Trust is broken

I hated the miscommunication trope, but now I completely despise it. This book is giving me anxiety. Love the first two, and this one is like having your knees bashed in with a crowbar. At least Audrey Rose finally sees what she has done. Has she told Thomas and her uncle the truth? No! Is she still lying to Thomas and Liza? Yes!
Spare me and the poor unicorns they talked about on page 228. Stop being a lying fool.

Audrey Rose: “Oh no! The consequences of my actions have led to the man I love questioning me! Whatever will I do?”
I hate this trope and I despise this stupid bargain with Mephistopheles. The mystery is still interesting, but the fact that this whole creepy gross thing is going on between the two is just bleh!
And poor Thomas! 😭
Yep, this one is definitely the worst in the series. Hopefully it ends well.

I know it’s early in the book, but it already might be my least favorite in this series with how a possible love triangle might be forming. I’m scared. I don’t think it’ll be a full triangle, but who knows. Hopefully not. Praying that it’s not.
I REALLY don’t like the whole “getting closer to the possible enemy” bit. Mephistopheles is creeping me out a good bit. Me no likey! 🫣
I want more Thomas!
