some mixed feelings about this one. it's gonna be an interesting review to write.

I'm not sure how I can enjoy a book so much but also want to strangle the MC so badly. And yet...I do. I really, really do.

nice to get back into this world, tho i will say that the only thing more annoying than this "it was all a training exercise" twist opening would be an "it was all a dream" sequence.

I totally guessed the action was all fake w/n the first page, which kinda undercut any tension I was supposed to be feeling.
