The story started off with Sylvia boasting about how badass she is, and knowing how to survive. How many times has she been blindsided, and almost killed at this point?

There is something that bothers me tho, it's like there's a history lesson every time someone talks about the worldbuilding. A painting or some shit shows up, and we need an entire paragraph explaining the details involving history of their world and past.
It also doesn't help, that I haven't even bothered to remember any of the names mentioned, like who tf was rovial? Or awaleen?

I don't remember ever being this bored reading something, and I can't even find much to hate on. Because I actually do believe this is a well written book, with strong characters, and with a detailed worldbuilding.
But not having much to hate on makes the reading so dull. I feel no connection to anything/anyone. I don't feel chemistry between the main characters, everything is just so blah

Honestly, my reaction to Sylvias inner monologue

If Vaun has been with Arin, and protected him since they were teenagers, then I would be very disappointed that Arin would choose hoes over bros smh

I think I realized why this relationship doesn't work for me. Because when there's enemies to lovers, there has to be distance between characters, they need to interact with others not just each other. Development should take time. Here, they work together on a similar goal, so they are forced to be near each other all the time. So, development happens within few 100 pages already, and thats boring to me

There it is, Arin isn't evil, he really is a prince charming, who wants to protect his people and land etc. Probably has to go against his father too, and become the new king or whatever

Let me guess, Jasad wasn't as innocent as Sylvia thinks, and they were actually some tyrants who needed to be "disciplined" (not sure if genocide is the right call tho)

The enemies part is already over I see 😒
