I guess I'm not understanding the humanization of the ai/bots in the history of this setting. It's ostensibly grounded as an alternate future, but even in this faraway timeline and technology we wouldn't have anything close to actually human passing robots. So why is the author trying to generate sympathy here? Imply it's cruel to make robots say they are indeed fake? Idk, not sold on this. We'll see as I continue.
