If there was one missed opportunity Watchmen had, I think, it was that it didn't really delve into the mindset of the villains. You had some heroes that were a bit out there at best, outright sociopaths like Comedian at worst, but the villains were played entirely straight. Just run-of-the-mill crooks. Could've looked a bit more into them too. What kind of a person openly styles themselves as a bad guy?

Even way back when I first read this comic, as a kid, I thought Rorschach was kind of weird and wouldn't have imagined so many people to be fans of his and how he works. Nowadays we have the series pushing that and everything.

And also even back then I thought his whole "cape-killer" conclusion to rather come out of nowhere. Don't you need at least two attacks before you can start forming patterns?

New insight to New Frontiersman - its politics, its agenda, and its role in the story. I took it pretty straight as a kid, where I noticed it at all.

I've read this comic more times than I can count, but something is different this time. For some reason I can approach it from the perspective of a first-time reader: really pick up on the grim atmosphere and the superhero deconstructions from the first couple chapters.

Rorschach lists all the other heroes, and their circumstances, and I feel immersed in a new and bleak world of antiheroes and impending doom.
