Interesting! I knew about the Andrew Melville associated with the University of St Andrews, but not Sir Andrew Melvill. Was there something in particular which prompted you to read these memoirs?

I'm a history nerd and history with a Scottish connection is in particular something I read about. I also read a lot of historical memoirs - they take the reader into the world view of people in the past. I probably saw a reference to this in another book, but I can't remember which one.

I've certainly got that impression from your reviews over the years! And thanks, I was wondering whether it was a reference in a book, or even a local or family connection.
