every time i get into it this book pisses me off.
saying apropos of nothing that your grandparents died in the holocaust?? padmini thinking in physics formulas like this is ice princess?? none of this feels like real people.
i’m still going to finish it. it’s interesting when it isn’t mentioning how an unnamed character is mixed white and indigenous south american

Hits the ground running. I liked the prologue and manny’s introduction. but as the story continues it feels like the author is squeezing in as many social commentaries as possible. maybe it stands out to me because i’m white, but, of course manny and bel get the cops called on them the second they step outside. ofc aislyns abusive dad is a cop who loves to racially profile. hate the naming. don’t like bronca.
