i appreciate some of these stories and even liked "a romantic weekend" and "something nice" but i think mary gaitskill is too much of a cynic for me. still i persist because holding a book is about all i can stand to do in my current state

also just a personal taste thing i guess, but there's no way i'd consider any of what i've read to be particularly erotic. sexually explicit, yeah, but like...she's holding sex at such an arm's length even while talking about hardcore s&m.
