Erica, Erica, Erica. I understand her creative struggle in a way. Also, what do you do with someone who is struggling like that?
Changez is interesting. It seems he wants the benefits of American living but he also wants to be home. Perhaps he’ll always want what he doesn’t have and never be completely satisfied or at home.

Hmmm. Interesting perspective to take on the twin towers. I get it. But also dang.
And Erica seems like she needs to go to grief counseling.
I like the slight exploration of born in poverty vs falling into poverty. That distinction is intriguing to me.
Also, the fact that he is trying to find himself is very evident. Who is Changez? One wants to know.

So far, this isn’t bad. It’s engaging in the sense that I am eager to know about his time in America and the drama of what happens with him and Erica. I can see the postmodern elements of identity and change and chaos coming through. There are parts in which he is told who he is and parts in which he is conflicted about how he feels
