The action keeps duplicating. Arwen finally accepts her fate. She admits her love to Kane which frees her from insecurities. She makes peace with Ryder. It turns out he’s a bit of a coward and too trusting. He tells Amelia where Arwen and Kane go and she betrays them. Kane and Arwen fight for their lives - twice. And Arwen “dies” by Lazarus. Now Lazarus plots to conceive many full blood heirs with her.

Arwen has a pity party. She blames herself for everything. She thinks she caused her mother’s death because she asked Kane to bring her family to Peridot. Fedrick’s leg was crushed because of her. Mari is in a coma because of her. She’s acting like Silla in her deep depression. Also she reminds me of Freya from Fate Inked in Blood when she went crazy and killed enemy soldiers. Seriously they deserved it.

I need more tender moments between Griffin and Mari. They have potential to be cute. Weird that he never uses her name. He calls her witch. Although the tone might be soft, I can’t find it endearing. Also POV is tough. I need a chapter or two from Griffin or Mari’s POV. Maybe book 3?

The angst between Arwen and Kane is too much. I don’t completely get it. He lied to her. But realistically had no choice. Arwen is going through depression. Reminds me of Silla in book two. That’s probably why I didn’t like Silla in book 2. She was great in book 1. However I can understand it’s for character growth.

Arwen is Auren minus a few plot points. Arwen manifests her power and loses control, killing all enemy soldiers. They deserved it. Auren loses control, kills Midas, and gilts everyone. Slade had to knock her unconscious. I also get Silla vibes. At the end of Road of Bones, she loses control and kills people. They haven’t learned how to control their power yet.
