Curiosity killed the cat.
I've heard about the controversies with this series, so I wanted to find out for myself. I'm actually enjoying it so far.
One annoyance, among several so far- why do all the men in books smell like pine? Isn't there some other scent we can come up with? This is a clear example of "checking your brain at the door." The banter is sparkling, but realism and consistency aren't its' strengths.

A beauty and the beast reference? Nope, doesn't work. Not in YA, and definitely not here. There's a big difference between teenage angst and the yearning and impossibility that is that classic fairytale.
