That’s the thing about friends. Each one of them is different. And each friend knows something about you that your other friends don’t know. I guess a part of bbeing friends is that you share a secret with each one of them. The secret doesn’t have to be a big secret. It could just be a little one. But sharing that secret is one of things that makes you friends. I thought that was pretty amazing.

“When you are standing all alone,” she
whispered, “the people who notice—those are the people who stand by your side.
Those are the people who love you.”

“He said I should read Oscar Wilde.”
“Who’s he?”
“He was this English guy. Or Irish. I don’t know. Famous writer in the Victorian
age. Dad said he was ahead of his time.”
“And your dad reads him?”
“Sure. He’s aliterature guy.”
