another thing this book does that annihilation does not do and that i do not like is a lot of taxonomizing and listing. like u introduce a person and suddenly i need to know their first name last name hair color eye color height background clothes NO. i appreciated my expedition 12 enigmas <3

i've decided i liked annihilation better. too many things happening here. also don't like this narration?

i'm not sure i'm the target audience for this book because we're talking about conspiracies and government organizations and i'm over here like "omg my dead wife please i miss her"

and this is fascinating that everyone gets an appearance description? whereas annihilation gave us none of it. kind of reminds me of what someone in yellowjackets said about how they don't think at all about what they look like
