Poor Lou Lou, Ampert, Wyatt, and all those nasty mutt creatures. It has a bit of Jumanji vibes where you never know what's gonna be an enemy. I felt bad for most of the casualties but why did Haymitch easily kill Lou Lou. I guess to end her suffering but still!

Wow, the return of Louella, some familiar faces from Effie, Wiress, and Better and at the end of the chapter Lenore is talking to Haymitch! I like the buildup of getting alliances more about quantity than quality. Of course I like Ampert cause he's smart and energetic. We shall see what comes next.

Welp! This got interesting, real fast. Haymitch's past is told very well through flashbacks and his thoughts are well conveyed. My first impression of the younger Plutarch is that he is an ass who is trying so hard to do his job well but he is struggling. I don't know what to make of Lenore and also Louella. We'll see how that goes.
