I don’t know why this series doesn’t manage to hook me like Bartimaeus and Lockwood did, but it doesn’t, at all. Scarlett remains an abstract idea to me and I don’t much care about Albert. Possibly, post-apocalyptic stuff doesn’t resonate with me at all.
