Valen shows up as Ava is moving in. He’s recovering, deciding to stay in city awhile. Celine suggests he move in as Ava’s roommate as he figures things out. They shake hands and he realizes yes, she is his mate.
Book was corny (trying to be edgy/sexy and funny, didn’t always work, trying too hard). Even the sexy stuff was a let down once it happened. But fun enough time. Will read next book. 3.25 stars.

Celine and Valen escape the club same time Ava and Zav arrive to rescue them. Zav killed Genevieve and her vampire crew. Valen disappeared upon seeing Ava but we don’t know why. Celine and Zav drink blood to complete mate bond and move into her apartment, Ava (newly single from Spencer) moves into Zav’s apartment. She asks how he happened to get an apartment right next to Celine.

Next morning he draws a smiley face on her pancakes that gives away he’s the vigilante killer. She leaves but is caught but other vampires.
