It was an interesting conference, although I was left with some things I had some trouble understanding with the planning. I get the gist of their strategy, though, and will probably get a better picture once we get to Rimuru’s side.

Finished the preparations. With all the players revealed, I’m now looking forward to see how the battles will go. The moment that I really want to see, though, (Ciel) wouldn’t happen until the fifteenth volume, if my recollection is accurate.

The war’s about to come. I guess looking by the end of the previous chapter, Gadora really did plan to betray the Empire, but did was the event that forced the guy to go back to their side again. Perhaps it had something to do with the spell he set up before he got killed (probably a way to communicate to Rimuru what he found about the Marshal), or maybe Velgrynd got ahold of his mind.

The Marshal (which I assume to be Velgrynd) is putting in some words of her own now. It’ll be interesting to see how this will develop into the actual war.

That was long. This whole Gadora thing seems really fishy. I probably would have suspected him even if I had no knowledge of some of his future actions.

There were some very subtle foreshadowing from the narrator, which left me wondering about what will bappen about this whole thing. I have pretty much been spoiled already about Gadora’s fake betrayal, his connections with Adalman, and Tetsuya being Rimuru’s and Hinata’s killer, but I don’t know of the events that will lead up to that. This whole Dungeon quest is also interesting.

That was a very long meeting. Is this how the meetings usually go in the novels? It feels a lot more complete compared to the ones in the anime (I know understand why even the novel readers regarded the third season badly). More than an hour of such exposition, though, is a new one for me.

So this is how long meetings usually went in the novels. There were a lot of content, and it left me with this sort of anticipation for the war with the Eastern Empire. Although I have seen spoilers on this on YT just recently, but I still have no idea of the scale of the battles.

The volume already started with some exciting content. Although I really am not fond of Yūki, his encounter with Guy was an obvious setup for the future, and the ongoing meeting at the first chapter really speeds up some development on the Eastern Empire matter that I was expecting to be more gradual.
