Over halfway through and I’m pretty bored. I just feel like there’s not much to this story, and the writing can be pretty repetitive. It feels scenic in moments, and Haven’s dives are engaging enough, but they don’t last nearly as long as I’d like them to.

Sleepy sleepy writing lacks character time to sleep sleep sleep time

I’m finding myself bored by Mari’s chapters; I don’t love the change back and forth from first person to third person, and I just find Haven’s story a lot more compelling overall (gimme that good treasure hunting plot!). I’m hoping that this is just a first half of the book thing, but I’m also not getting my hopes up.
