I’m torn between whether setting up gullberg to be a big player over several chapters and killing him that way added to the drama of his ending or was unnecessary. 300 pages in and not a lot of plot is happening. There’s so much exposition for this to be a final chapter in a trilogy and it makes me wonder if it were ever supposed to be only a trilogy or if Larsson was setting the scene for a much longer series
