It’s almost like I focus so much on trying to find the sexism between the lines of books by men from this era that the most blatant misogyny passes me by. Or perhaps I choose to be mostly amused by any one male author’s clearly bizarre and conflicted views on women. It’s always a mixture of envy, disgust and fascination. For example the concept that we become more telepathic on our periods is hilarious.
