Ever read a book (classics in particular) and then you get to the end and are like… I don’t get it. Like you understand the events, but you can’t understand the point. This book has been like that, and I’m not sure if we are going to make a point overall. I do however understand the point of dystopian lit, and ya’ll this last section is eerie as all get out. Go vote against corpocracy, I beg!

Erm, still 38 minutes left in this section. I guess there’s some statement being made about the degradation of language or the culture of the narrator. Got to wonder if anyone who was not a white man stuck 70 pages described as nearly unreadable by fans in the middle of a book, would it have been published let alone given status as Literature? If your answer is no, then it’s cultural appropriation at best, baby!

Thank God for audiobooks. I do not know how Mitchell wrote this or how anyone reads cause this dialectical writing is rough. (Racist?) Also, now there’s cannibalism because why not, I guess?

I always feel like this when I read award winning literature 🤣 I’m always like well I see why this won an award but what 🤣 but I’m not a very analytical reader, it’s more of an escape for me.

It happened a lot when I first started reading classics and capital L Literature on my own (and not like in a class setting), but this is the first time in a while. I suggest practice, book podcasts, scholarly articles, or just DNFing because honestly how great can it be if it’s that’s much work.
Worst Bestseller’s is my favorite. (They read books so you don’t have to.) The title implies that they are always mean, but a lot of times they end up liking the books either way it’s fun to hear the banter and there is a cat mascot. Material girls is two literature phds bantering about all sorts of things but often books. They talk a lot about lit theory so very very nerdy but on the humanities side of academia. If books could kill fact checks advice books. There’s also a lot that will do chapter by chapter breakdowns of big name titles. Hot and Bothered and has done, Twilight, Jane Eyre, and Pride and Prejudice. Affiliates of those listed above have also done now wrapped Harry Potter analysis.
