Almost halfway through the book, my mind was filled with whats, whys, hows.... but I'm trying to be patience, let the book guide me and my curiosity. Even if the payoff isn't satisfying, is the journey still worth it?

Okay, this book is definitely not for kids. The details are grim and dark. Also, my brain keeps requiring answers immediately but I do have hope that Mr King will give them later.

Am I experiencing "Seinfeld is unfunny" phenomenon?

Sure. Who doesn't want to escape this mundane life into a magical fantasy world least of all, not to mention doing it in order to save your mum? The premise was weak, with some soft logic and unanswered questions that I hope will get revealed later - but as far as his motive - I'm sold on this one.

One thing that I just found out is that King wrote this in dedication to his mother. How fitting! I can totally relate since...

Curious, which target group is this book written for? Kids or adults? Young adults? The beginning seems to be a kid story with mature themes....

Hmmm it cant be that simple, right? Just good vs evil?

Some people dismiss King's books as not literature. Because horror are cheap thrills? Gimme a break. Horror are part of life, because life exists in tandem with death, and with death, there's fear... and that's the truth.
