“Light, what’s up ahead that can scare what’s behind? Light help me, I’ve never been so afraid. I don’t want to go any further. No further!”

“You might as well stop,” the voice snickered. “One place is as good as another when you aren’t from anywhere, and the Dark One has you marked.”

Not as much world building happening, the writing isn’t overly detailed or descriptive..but the story has me sucked in and asking a lot of questions. However, I feel like I’ve read a lot of these tropes before and fairly often.

“And the Shadow fell upon the Land and the World was riven stone from stone. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all overs, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World.”

This series is going to consume me.
