I have only finished the introduction, and am hoping the main text will be more comprehensible in this edition. But already LeLoup connects this gospel to the Kabbalah and the idea of sex as a holy activity, so already I am getting the sense that this branch of early followers of Jesus have more in common with Goddess traditions than the Christianity I grew up with
