Bidwell is the WORST

Also, this is such a frustrating book, in the best way - very realistic, complex, and often infuriating characters making realistic (and often very selfish) decisions.

Not sure who is a worse human: Exodus Jerusalem, or Bidwell.

One of my favorite things about this novel so far (and Boy’s Life did this well too) is the way that McCammon makes you question whether the supernatural actually exists in this world.

My assumption, of course, is that Rachel is not a witch and that everything we’ve seen or heard can be logically explained. But also…

One of my favorite little historical details in this novel (so far):

Everyone is short. Twice already, Corbett has referred to a 6ft tall man as a 'giant'.

Also, the rest of the book is great.

Had to start another McCammon novel after how great Boy’s Life was. This one is just as good (and addictive) so far.

McCammon is that dude.
