I always took Raskolnikov to be more of the rationalist teetering on nihilism ("I can justify this"), but Bazarov just goes for it. I, too, find him more reflective (if not more convincing).

That’s an important distinction, for sure. And I agree: Bazarov is more convincing.But is it a crime and punishment to like this more than Crime and Punishment?
