I’m so sorry but how did this win the Hugo OR the Nebula. The prose is sleep inducing and the characterization is impossibly flat. Yes, I am happy to concede that his ideas for aliens and interstellar travel are kinda interesting but you simply cannot say gravity on Earth is 9.98m/s and expect me to consider this “hard science fiction”. Clearly nobody who knew physics read this prior to publishing. Embarassing
