Hepatorenal Syndrome stems from splanchnic vasodilation leading to RAAS-mediated vasoconstriction of other organs including the kidney. This causes GFR to be highly susceptible to small changes in cardiac output. Diagnosis includes cirrhosis and ascites, serum creatinine > 1.5 mg/dL, and refractory albumin infusions. Treat with terlipressin and albumin, but consider liver transplant due to common recurrence
