I had the eerie feeling that in many ways this book is a psychoanalysis of myself… or at least a possible version of myself decades from now.

But then I get into chapter 2 and find that our protagonist is likewise handed this eerie psychoanalysis of himself… and this got to me!

Owen Sinyard Now… for the record, I am not sure whether I have a wolf in me or some other animal, or an entire herd… but regardless, I am a creature with two natures which are at odds with one another… and I am not responding to this predicament in quite the positive way that Plato envisioned, but in a way more akin to that of the Steppenwolf. I am anxious to continue reading and have more of myself revealed.

Fiction (ironically) allows for a kind of candour and honesty that philosophy and theology cannot.
