am in the mood for something that doesn't involve too much "actual reading". this isn't about drinking at the movies! it's about the narrator moving to new york. i think it's a continuation of her previous memoir that i read but can't remember the title of...? in that one she was in california and working in crappy jobs and once ate some pot brownies that kicked in when she went to the mall and she freaked out lol

oh she's found the best apartment! the story is so great. there was a mistake in the listing (wrong suburb) and also the real estate agent was like "no one wants to see it once they find out there's no windows" but then they go and see it together and are both shocked to find that not only are there windows it's GORGEOUS!!! she's never seen such an incorrect listing.

now she's started freelancing and explained that it feels like: (insert picture of factory with conveyor belt. different things go in. they all come out LOOKING THE SAME). she gets fired shortly after when she posts online anonymously about her job and her editor sees it and knows it's her (although to be fair she has a very distinctive voice and way with similes "it's like i got spanked by satan!")

this is so great. she's settled into ny from cali but is drinking too much and her brain has gone (her head pops open and the brain sproings out and says in a speech bubble "suck it bitch, i'm outta here!") ha! i like this so much. most of it is ordinary life but the way she describes and draws things is very absorbing

her life has just imploded in san francisco (boyfriend has fallen in love with someone else! she's lost her job! her brother is in rehab interstate!) and she's impulsively moving to NY. she's sitting quietly on the bus leaving and a drunk guy goes, "WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING BITCH!" and she's all misty thinking how she's gonna miss cali
