his mom is some sort of dream scientist and his dad is a manager of a store yet the appliances in their house are in bad shape and rickety...? tbf parents irl are like that but i just thought it was weird since id think they would have enough money to fix it 😅 but GOD did mc take forever to actually do something about him, it honestly shouldve been much shorter but mc is a doormat always wanting to be nice to him insisting he stays on his bed, why?? and why was slappy so mean to him, does he have a pet peeve for the kids that are nice (supposedly) to him?

one book i read that was part of this series before this book's release (which btw im not sure of the stories' timeline, tho it seems to be modern day) involved a kid that kept complimenting him and slappy actually submitted TO HIM and was actually nice to him because of that (tho it did take some time lol) so im not understanding what this kid did to make him pissed? was his niceness patronizing in a way? im not sure... this kid would bring him to school and hang out with him a lot but he never tried to talk things out so maybe that's what it was? meh 😭
