Heir of Fire: Fairy girl falls into fairyland where she meets a conniving fae queen and is assigned to train with a traumatized fae prince (which means he has to be mean to her to help her realize their potential, it also means they will probably bang), turns out she is the chosen one and that mark on her forehead is a powerful lightning bolt scar…I mean Wyrdmark; meanwhile the boys get into all kinds of trouble without her (those little scamps), the witches invent Fourth Wing before Yarros has a chance, the boys are with Celaena in what is almost a refreshing twist on the Bechdel test, no one gets a happy ending, and we meet token gays. 4/5 stars.

Ah yes, the ever popular “enemies to lovers” excuse for being mean lol. And so Yarros is really just writing HOF fanfic? Because of COURSE she is. Does that mean that it’s all the boys who are pick me this time?? And we have epic longing maybe?!?
