Chapter7: the 4th circle, the people are constantly pushing heavy materials in a circle and when they come to the middle they shout insults. Their sin was materialism. In the 5th circle the sin is anger. Those with active anger are trying to survive in the river of stix and are suffering, those with passive anger are drowning at the bottom choking on the dirty mud trying to sing a hymn.

Chapter 6: in cicle 3 the sin is gluttony a dog guarding them has a huge stomach representing gluttony. Dante meets a Florentian just like him but doesn't recognize him until the guy tells him they have met. We get to know why dante disliked pope boniface bc there was a fight between the guelphs and another family but after defeating them there were black and white guelphs. Dante was a white and the pope a black.

Chapter 5: After virgil defeats minos the poets enter the second circle and meet people like Cleopatra and Achilles, Helen and Dido. These people's sin is a huge sexual interest and pleasure but Dante says it's only the second circle because their sin is from a formnof loce so it is not so bad. They suffer from a hurricane blowing them all the time.

Chaper 4: After getting through the river of Acheron Dante and Virgil are finally in the hell and it is said there are 7 circles (the last one has 3 stages) and each represents a sin and a punishmant for it. In the first cicle are the virtuous pagans just like Virgil who were born before Jesus and couldn't believe in him because they were simply in a different timeline and are suffering for that. Chapter 3: The vestibule of hell
Dante meets a group of people at the gate of hell who in their lives did not choose good but neather did they choose evil so they are suffering at the gate of hell because neather hell or heaven would open their gates for them. He refers to pope Celestive V who went back from being a pope only after 5 months because he was not into politics. Dante blamed him a lot for doing nothing.

Chapter 2: Dante doubting he is worthy enough of going through this journey but Virgil tells him that even christians like (a saint I don't remember his name) and Aeneas (the one who left Troy to come to Rome) went through it. He also explain a solar system (not accurate) which he expresses as the nine heavens and above the last one (Premium mobile 9th heaven) isn't anything materialistic only God angels etc.

Chapter one: Dante meeting Virgil when he wasn't able to climb the mountain to his happiness and falling into sin. He has to go through hell while still alive.
