Breezing through this book, so much death and misery. I’m glad Marjane can go to Europe, but the people of Iran are systemically held down. The people of Iran deserve better omg.

I realize more and more whilst reading this that I am Marjane. Coming from a more conservative Muslim family and seeing a child question her community and her faith is honestly quite relatable.
