I've really realised that while Henry James is exactly my kind of genius, he isn't for the masses. I was thinking about how to explain the "plot" of what I've read so far and I realised ofc that would be absurd, but also in character study, it's not like I'm learning of types. In fact it's more the interpersonal interactions that really stand out. It's the subtlety of dialogue, the strain of emotion! Beautiful but...
