Thank you, Vanitha 🌿 I must say now and then it reminds me of Maugham’s novel of obsession Of Human Bondage.

Yes the grandmother is an amusing wildcat. Oh because of his being immersed and drowned in the woman he loves, giving her everything, even though she uses him and insults him and does not return his love, at least not for the greater part of the novel.
