Interactions between characters are elongated, but not in a way that is unpleasant. If anything, the longer stretches of moments make it easier to fly through the text. The main character, Mma Ratsomame (?) is level-headed and hard working. One gets a sense of remorse over her lack of access to education and also a deep longing for her late father.
